Our latest report on Fiscal risks and sustainability (FRS) will be published on Tuesday 8 July. It will be launched at a press conference in Liverpool.
The 2025 FRS report will focus on three current pressures on the public finances and provide an update on the risk register:
- Climate change, where we will update our estimates of the fiscal costs of meeting the Government’s net zero commitments and of climate change-related damage to the UK economy.
- Public balance sheet, where we will review the public sector balance sheet, looking at risks to the achievement of the Government’s new public sector net financial liabilities (PSNFL) target
- Pensions, where we will look at the implications of demographics, savings, and other trends for the cost of the state pension, adequacy of future retirement incomes, and the structure of the gilt market.
We would like to invite those with expertise or experience in these areas to share with us their insights or direct us to relevant material that we should consider for the report. You can contact us by emailing [email protected].
